Sinopsis
We began this New Creation by forming an archive, believing that, if we captured what we were doing, we would be able to look at what had already happened. In this way, we tried not to lose focus on what we were doing, looking for clues that would inform us about what we could construct going forward. Each time there was a new pair dance, we recorded it and projected the filming from the previous occasion on the screen behind them. From this, we then developed a scenic device that is the materialisation of the movement taking us from now both into the past and into the future. A mise en abyme or a time tunnel, which enables us to see what is repeated and what is different, revealing the path through which this piece was constructed. In our excitement about responding to the process, we tend to exaggerate, and the more we film ourselves, the more we reproduce ourselves and the more we divide ourselves up, running the risk of confusing image with reality. Filming is trying to survive, but it is also showing a death. This gives rise to the need for constant reformulation, because we always need to carry on. Don’t we?
