Dutch dramaturge and theatre director Gerardjan Rijnders is the author of a fascinating theatrical oeuvre. After meeting Gonçalo Waddington and Carla Maciel, Portuguese theatre makers and man and wife, he decided to write a piece for them, based on two other couples: Shakespeare’s Macbeth & Lady Macbeth and Kurt Cobain & Courtney Love, as depicted in Charles R. Cross’ biography Heavier than Heaven.
