Sinopsis
Christiane Jatahy was awarded the 2012 Shell Award for Best Staging for Julia. In the piece, Jatahy takes one of Strindberg’s classical plays in order to address some of the social and political issues of contemporary Brazil. Assembling theatre and cinema on stage, this performance generates a constant friction between what can be seen from the actor’s presence and what can only be seen on film.
