Sinopsis

In Giacomo Meyerbeer’s opera L’Africaine, the central character is Vasco da Gama, who aspires to discover an “amazing country”. Theatre company Cão Solteiro and visual artist Vasco Araújo depart from this desire to revisit the inexhaustible discourse on alterity. The perfect pretext to rewrite the work in view of its contemporary implications.
