Sinopsis

In this masterclass for artists and researchers from all artistic fields, John Jota Leaños shares some of his practices as an interventionist artist in the areas of digital arts, installation, public art and performance. Leaños has created his work on the cultural border between California and Mexico, and it has been presented at film festivals and museums such as the Sundance Film Festival, Whitney Biennial, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art and Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art. He has been artist in residence at the Centre for Chicano Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and the Centre for Arts in Society at Carnegie Mellon University. At the moment, he is Assistant Professor of Social Documentation at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
