Politics, Language & Revolt
Saturday 10am to 1.30pm
Sinopsis
Throughout the world, social movements and political conflicts have been growing: demonstrations, occupancies, protest camps and revolutions, as diverse in their motivations as in the discourses adopted. The events that we are witnessing today seem to do without any sort of meta-language to describe or interpret them. It is in this context that we are organising a seminar for the discussion of the relationship between words and politics, taking as a starting point the debate about the nature, limits and advantages of the manifesto form; and as an end point the manifestos and speeches that have been produced in recent manifestations and revolutions. For that purpose, we have gathered theorists, activists and protesters from different backgrounds and countries.
