First staged in 1904, The Lonely Way aroused controversy as its plot was about lies and adultery. However the aim of theatre company tg STAN is not to depict the bourgeoisie of early 20th- century Vienna, but rather to focus their reading of Schnitzler’s play on the relationship between actor, character and text, where they reveal a thorough work of interpretation.
