Portishead’s devotion to krautrock had already emerged in their most tense moments – moderately in the 90s; and then rather blatantly in 2008 with Third –, therefore it is not surprising to see Geoff Barrow, with contagious fun and no restraint, exercising with Matt Williams and Billy Fuller all the hypnotic energy of Germanic motorik from the 70s.
