The Dutch company Dood Paard rewrites Euripides’ timeless play about love and its many truths and lies. They use a poetic language of common ground, a simple English liberally laced with pop lyrics, from The Doors to The Cure, to Madonna; lyrics that, like greek mythology, are part of modern society’s collective memory.
