A traditional tale becomes an opera, mixing popular songs from Transylvania, baroque music and pop rock. There are unhappy people, passion, humor, incest and murder. Past and present confront each other. Pintér portrays life in the countryside with savage irony – and tragedy lurks under the folk dances and the dubious puns.
