Sinopsis

Ruby-red tells the story of the colour red by means of an illusionist manipulation of objects, songs and short stories based on the world’s actual history, may it be political (the flags, armies, revolutions, heroes) narrative (the archetypal fairy tale characters, the childlike figures, symbology, painting) or technical (the making of the pigments, the optical dimension).

Red, rouge, rojo, vermelho, encarnado, rubro – there are many different names attributed all around the world to whatever touched the cherries and gave them colour, whatever kissed the lips and the cheeks of all the princesses, whatever decided to live inside men and animals, painting their hearts and colouring their veins. Red tells the story of this colour, through the illusionist manipulation of objects, songs and small stories based on the real story of the world.
