Sinopsis

While foreseeing death, Emilie du Châtelet looks back on her life and recalls her affections, fears and regrets as she puts in writing the way she would like to be remembered. Based on Amin Maalouf’s libretto, Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho has created this opera, presented in Portugal in a surprising new staging by Vasco Araújo and André e. Teodósio.
