On the day Teatro Maria Matos commemorates its 43th anniversary, we also celebrate John Cage’s 100th birthday. We will be showing part of his important musical legacy, while revealing some parts of the theatre that are usually hidden from the public: some of our most adventurous musicians will not only play but also get inspired by iconic compositions of this North American musician. Prepared piano, percussion and electronics will be the inevitable protagonists for the afternoon during which you can also enjoy sound installations, scores and videos as a way to celebrate one of the last century’s greatest art revolutionaries.
