Nuno Rebelo | Bruno Pernadas | Gala Drop | Mo Junkie
Sinopsis
Two years ago we celebrated the anniversary of Teatro Maria Matos by dedicating all our attention to the life and work of John Cage, inviting various Portuguese musicians to reinterpret his music and some of his peculiar philosophies. In 2014, we celebrate yet another sound revolutionary, another hundred-year-old, as eloquent and productive as Cage. In the course of the afternoon, we’ll listen to some of Sun Ra’s — musician, poet and cosmic philosopher, born between Alabama and the Planet Saturn — possible legacies, played and transformed as he would certainly have liked to listen to. Occupying several spaces within the theatre, there will be jazz and improvisation by Bruno Pernadas, cosmic groove by Gala Drop, rhythm construction and deconstruction by Mo Junkie, as well as a celebration in motion by Nuno Rebelo and his very special guests. A late afternoon with plenty of stars.
