Sinopsis

The show takes the audience on a tour of ten European Cities chosen for the fantasy world they convey. Four performers and a phlegmatic voice-off populate these ten landscapes, expressing different viewpoints about a continent steeped in history and revealing the barbarity buried beneath the agreeable beauty and the passivity of our everyday lives.

In his last artistic phase, Jed Martin, a character from a book by Michel Houellebecq, dedicates himself to creating videos in which he shows how nature devours the products of human intervention, causing them to disappear under its green and peaceful cloak. In the film Shoah, scenes are repeated that portray the infinite tranquillity of bucolic landscapes, forests and fields that only a few years before were the setting for torture and mass murder. One reality is hidden beneath another reality. The people are silent, the cities are silent, the countries forget.

La posibilidad que desaparece frente al paisaje [The possibility that disappears before the landscape] begins with an empty stage, occupied only by a screen onto which is projected a narrative journey through ten European cities, which embody the darkest, most disturbing and most violent places of humanity, quoting fetish thinkers such as Michel Houellebecq, Paul B. Preciado, Spencer Tunick or Mary Midgley, as well as anonymous people. Four actors appear who begin to occupy the space with banal activities, which apparently have nothing to do with the narrated text, but are slowly transformed into scenes laden with powerful and disturbing images. Like a map composed of images of an aesthetic nature, beneath which the wild territory of the mind is hidden.
